I’m back in China!

It’s been almost 5 years since I was back last time, this time, first stop is Beijing, and of course the first thing to do after landing (and showering) is to go for dinner with my aunt and my uncle (whose place I’m currently staying at).

I think the pictures speak for themselves this time, all the Beijing classics are on display here in this restaurant named Ju Qi (局气), which is Beijing slang for “generous, well mannered, honorable.” Eating here really made me realize how much I miss proper Chinese cooking, and the Peking styled duck is just icing on the cake here. Everything was done beautifully, and with flourish. Despite my praise, given the quality of restaurant in Beijing in general, I believe there are better to come, and I look forward to them!

This place also had a crested myna. Supposedly it can learn to mimic like parrots, but so far all it did was make the car alarm sound at us. They also had live music from the lady playing a Gu Zheng (古筝).

My aunt and my uncle are so cute, and they got a really cute kid too. I’ll see if I can get some more photos of him.

Looks like Chinese is back on the menu boys!
